Artistic: Still Life

A corner in my studio. I pick up and put down projects so I have lots of 'stuff'. Write now I am working on my photography, so I guess the crocheting, painting, and other pastimes will take a back seat for a while. That's ok. I will get back to them when inspiration strikes.
This is a challenge photo from dogwood 2017

dogwood2 week 12 Technical; Macro

I typically like macro photography, but because of the season, there are not may flowers blooming yet so I photographed this Chris Thorn plant that my son gave me for Christmas. It seems to be just a bit out of focus, but it might just be my eyes. They have been bothering me lately with all the tree pollen in the air.

Landscape: Traditional landscape

I never tire of taking photos of the river. It is always here, but never the same.
I am working thru the challenge photos for dogwood 2016 and 2017.

dogwood52 week 11 - Composition; Negative Space

As I look at this photo now, I see what I could have done to make it better, such as move the chairs to the right of the frame to balance the window on the left. Also, put the two chairs together on the right and the single on the left. I may have to shoot this composition again.

dogwood52 week 10 - Vision; Selective Color

This was an interesting challenge because I don't have experience with photoshop. I always found it too much work. But the only way to get selective color was to use a similar software. I heard about gimp so I thought I would give it a try. It's free so that was a big plus. I still have a big learning curve to use it, but for this challenge it worked pretty well.
