No, this is not Boston, but the TSYS campus. Renovations on the Mott House are under way...and I mean way under. I am assuming that they needed to upgrade the systems for the sewer and other utilities. Work is also going on inside, but I am pretty sure I will not be able to get a shot of that.
The 'Cannon' was one of the first restaurants in Uptown in the late 90's that wasn't part of a chain. My son's high school shop teacher and a friend had an idea to brew (on the premises) micro beers and expand the beer drinking tastes of the local rednecks.
The original restaurant/bar was two store fronts. Restaurant on one side ( through the arch on the left) and the bar on the other. Both of my sons worked here at one time or another. My oldest son also helped rehab the building. He actually helped dig out the basement and they found numerous Civil War relics during excavation.
The Cannon is doing well these days; they have expanded into the space next door. The original owners were bought out years ago. I hope they made a good deal.
Over the last couple of weeks I have been planning and creating decorations for a cube decorating contest at work. I haven't participated the last couple of years, but this year I went all out. My theme was Candyland (like the game). The wreath is made from marshmallows and gumdrops. Boy was that a sticky job because it has been really humid over the last week. I bought the gingerbread man; however I made GBM game pieces.
Here is a short video of the three separate areas.
I feel like I need to post something. Because of recent injuries, and the lack of photographic inspiration, I have been pouring all my creativity into other pursuits. I have been creating elements for a cube decorating contest at work, preparing to be a secret Santa, and painting Christmas cards. I have been having a lot of fun, but it doesn't leave much time for a city daily photo! I hope to get back into the swing of things soon.
