House of Heroes

House of Heroes is an organization that provides home maintenance and repairs to retired soldiers, policeman, and firefighters. The majority of recipients are retired soldiers and/or their surviving spouses. Typically, recipients don't have the resources or the ability to make home repairs themselves.

Corporate sponsors pay for supplies (and often provide volunteer workers). Contractors replace roofs, build wheelchair ramps, and make other structural repairs, and volunteers do the rest. I have worked on a couple of homes and it is always a pleasure to meet these heroes and thank them for their service to our country.

This is a wonderful program; so nice that you're involved. These are the people who are often forgotten and without the resources to care for themselves...Superb!s
