Come Back to the Five and Dime

In the 1100 block of Broadway, the H.L.Green drug store no longer sells penny candy, nylons, or aspirin. I am not sure exactly when the store closed, but a couple of deli's have recently occupied the ground floor. Neither one did too well or lasted too long. The ground floor is still available for retail space, while the 2nd and 3rd floors and been converted into condos.

That looks so familiar, so much like stores I knew as a child.

I'm glad it wasn't bulldozed. I can imagine the condos are rather nice. And I'd expect the right store would do well there.
