My husband (and I) spent 20 years in the military. This is one of the many unit insignia he wore. The only insignia I wore was 'spouse'. Actually, when we were in the army, we (spouses and kids) were called 'dependents'. I hated that word because I was not dependent. I was independent; had to be. At a moments notice a military spouse had to be prepared to take the reins and do what needed to be done. No, I never enlisted, but I was in the army as much as TOM (the old man).
