Back to the Marina

One of my first memories of moving to the Phenix City/Columbus/Fort Benning area (from central Texas where everything is brown) is of the kudzu and the spanish moss of the deep south. We took a right turn off of the strip-club, liquor store, tattoo parlor laden Victory Drive onto Fort Benning Road; a mile stretch of live oak and other assorted trees, monstrous kudzu creatures, and dripping spanish moss.
A cool haven from the heat of summer; a warm welcome to our new home.

Looks like a lovely spot! But you can have the kudzu AND the Spanish moss...the latter is itchy and full of little bugs and I think it tends to kill the trees, but some say not so...

Spanish Moss just has southern hospitality written all over it!

We don't have kudzu in town but it is out in the county. And spanish moss, sometimes, but our oak trees, luckily, don't have them. I've heard that Texas can be drab. I need green.
