Mini Kayak

*****
Businesses are prepping for the advent of white water in Columbus near the end of 2012.
*****
The price tag for the project is estimated at $23 million, its economic impact at $42 million a year (not sure that I really believe this). The plan is to divert the flow of the river and deploy heavy equipment to the rocky bed to take apart the Eagle & Phenix dam below 13th Street and the City Mills dam near 18th Street.
Then workers would construct an engineered whitewater course that fits the rivers more natural flow.
*****
The project is expected to create 700 jobs and attract 140,000 visitors a year.
Once the project is completed, it will be one of the largest urban whitewater course in the country.
