The Oaks

Home of Booker T. Washington on the campus of the Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL.
He was born a slave in 1856. After the Civil War, he founded and was the principal of the Tuskegee Normal and Industrial School. He was the most influential African American of his era.

He was, indeed, a great man. And this is a great house. It would be fun to explore all the nooks and crannies!

What a pretty house! I have never been to Tuskegee and I have always meant to go. You photo has made me want to make it a priority!
