The River is Flowing

*****
Well, at least some of it is. The first 50 foot section was detonated at the Eagle and Phenix Mill complex today. The second larger section is scheduled for Sunday morning between 10 and 1. Today's implosion consisted of 20 charges that detonated 1/20,0000 seconds apart. I arrived at 1:00 to get a good seat for the show. They had a band playing and vendors selling goods. Some felt it was a bit anti-climatic, I guess they were hoping for a bigger "B-O-O-M. For me, it was just another step toward the final goal of returning the Chattahoochee to a natural flow. Stay tuned for more. I plan to attend Sunday's show as well.

Those are absolutely incredible shots. The action is stupendous, you don't need a big roar. Great, great capture!

I wish our river had this much water.

Well, you did a great job with the sequential shots! Must have been lots of fun and the goal of all this is very important in my opinion!

What were the city planners thinking -- to put in low dams? We had that happen here in Dayton, Ohio too. And those were just recently taken out. You recorded it and those pictures will be nice to see some day in the future.

Sometimes a big bang is highly overrated Barb!! Great job of documenting the action, looking forward to seeing Sunday's show. It will eb so great to have the river flowing freely again, why did they put the dams in in the first place?
