Legacy Hall

*****
This is the pipe organ in Legacy Hall at the River Center.  It has approximately
4500 pipes and weighs about 45000 pounds. The foundation had to be reinforced to support the weight of the organ. Legacy Hall is part of the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. The organ was handmade about 10 years ago for about $1 million. Today the same organ would cost about $2 million.

We were all allowed an up close and personal view of the organ.

The hall seats between 250 and 400. Sorry I can't remember.

The chandeliers are custom made from copper and are acoustically transparent. Everything in thishall is designed so that nothing interferes with the honesty of the music. Very interesting tour.

I find that hall tremendously appealing. The colour and the curves really catch my eye!

My dad would love that organ!

I like the idea of a chandelier acoustically transparent, it obviously means a lot of care in designing this beautiful hall!
