A Rare Occurrence

Image
***** A rare occurrence in this part of the country...snow. The second polar vortex in a month is pushing winter into the Deep South this week. In fact, the weather has been all the talk for the last couple of days.  ***** Sadly, the locals are not very snow-savvy when it comes to driving. I will stay in my warm house until the snow and ice have melted from the streets. If we get enough of the white stuff, I might venture out to throw a few snowballs or build a snowman.

CVD Takes a Vacation

Image
Happy, sunny Sunday. I am preparing for a visitor; my Mom is coming to visit for about six weeks. I may post during this period on occasion, but it won't be daily. I want to be able to spend time with this great lady who over the past year has surprised me almost daily with her spunk and determination. I will see you when I get back to posting on a regular basis. This is a shot of my Mom and Gma a year ago. *****

Bridges

Image
***** We tried to locate a cache on the 14th Street Bridge today. This was our second attempt. The first time we could not really look because there were too many people. Today, no people, but we still couldn't locate it. Because we are new at this, we really don't know what to look for. As part of the River Walk Geo Cache, we thought we were looking for similar cache boxes, but I guess that is not the case. I guess we will have to try again. Before we left, I took a shot with my iPhone.  *****

Heron Rookery

Image
***** It was a rainy and gray in the valley today. Even the herons are tucked all snugly in their nests. The temps also are dropping so the weatherman has advised us to stay inside over the next couple of days.  *****

***** I don't know if this is my favorite shot of the year, but it is one of my favorite views. Hope you are having a relaxed first day of the new year. Back to work for me tomorrow. How about you? *****
